In this class there’ll be a discussion on the purpose of the asana practice and where the modern yoga practice fits into the scheme of the historical evolution of traditional yoga. We’ll spend time learning abdominal and thoracic breathing methods, how to apply the three bandhas and the classical kriyas. We’ll finish with developing a foundation for meditation and talk about the importance of not only practicing yoga postures but cultivating a sitting practice and how this can be a powerful tool for transformation in your life. This workshop will also include some light asana and mobility work.
