I returned home to Sydney a few days ago after running a retreat at The Sanctuary in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland. I would like to send a special thanks to all the wonderful yogis and yoginis who made this an amazing experience, where we had so many laughs, and made real heart connections, while plunging deeply into the depths of Yoga. This was one of the best weeks of my life and I felt so connected to the place that I have booked in for the same time next year. It really needs to be seen to be believed, but I just loved being surrounded by the beauty of mother nature – the rainforest, the beach, the ocean, the ranges, the glorious sky and perfect weather. It is the ideal setting for a yoga retreat.
We had a perfect balance between practice and relaxation during the week. The yoga program consisted of a combination of morning Mysore classes, afternoon talks on philosophy and workshop style classes. In the evening after dinner we did some chanting, kirtan and yoga nidra. In between there was plenty of time to rest and relax, to take a walk through the forest to the beach and go for a swim or laze in the shade or sun. With a self-catering and restaurant option everyone’s tastes were covered. The food from the restaurant was delicious and the view from the dining area absolutely stunning.
